Asheville, Here We Come

Never in my life have I been so excited for a vacation! This was a REAL vacation – not the kind when you are really having to work and then you stay overnight and CALL it a vacation. And it wasn’t the infamous “staycation”, either. This was an honest to goodness vacation. Swanky hotel…. AMAZING food… Touristy outings. The whole bit. What was the best part, you ask? Woodstock came too!!!!

A family wedding was taking place in Charlotte, so we gave ourselves 3 days to spend in Asheville, NC first. I read all kinds of different things online about how dog friendly this city is but when I got there, my mind was blown!

We stayed at the Aloft Downtown. They were so ready and welcoming of Woodstock. I couldn’t have asked for more. After we checked in, we got acquainted with the cool artsy vibe downtown and grabbed lunch. Again! The cafe was so welcoming of Woodstock. Nearly every restaurant had outdoor seating. They brought a bowl of water for him and we all had a great time. Shops let him walk through with us. It was amazing. We spent a full day hiking at the Biltmore. We toured the house. It was a very full day. But so so fun! We visited every chocolatier there was and enjoyed an awesome William Wegman exhibit at the Art Museum.  I couldn’t have asked for anything more of our time in Asheville.

After our stay, we made our way to Charlotte and had a great time with family and friends. But before coming home, we did just a little bit of sightseeing in Gastonia, NC.
