My Very Late Birthday Trip

Nearly every year, my daughter and I celebrate my birthday with a little getaway. I have always dreamed of taking her to NYC. However, living in the West, the idea of traveling to NYC seemed like it was just that… a dream. Going that far for just 2 or 3 days didn’t really make sense and to vacation longer was too expensive. But now that we are in the South, it seemed like it might possibly happen.

My birthday is in November but with the holidays and winter, we waited until Spring Break.

Both of us have been to New York City once before but missed out on seeing a lot of the highlights of the city. So those are the things we focused on for this trip: Statue of Liberty, Times Square, a show, famous architecture, Macy’s, Ellis Island, buggy ride through Central Park and street vendor eats.

Below are some of my favorite photographs from our trip. We had so much fun!!
